The 1st Annual South Central Job Olympics, was held at West Plains Civic Center, today, April 4, 2024. The mission of the Job Olympics is to showcase student mastery of job skills; to promote independence, self-motivation, and personal achievement. Some of our Liberty Eagles joined the competition. Liberty students experienced success and pride in their individual accomplishments, and shared in the success of their peers. All five participating Liberty High School Students: Bishop Campbell, Hayden Hicks, Madison Martinez, Steven Overton, and Tristan White performed exemplary and metaled in various competitions!!! A special thanks to the competitors, staff, volunteers, and especially to our local Gold Donors: Abel Insurance Agency, Inc., West Plains Bank, and Simmons Bank. Way to go Liberty! We can't wait until next year!
We have received unofficial results from our school board election from Texas County, Shannon County, and Howell County: Gaylon Noble 278, Michael Smith - 273, and Jennifer Foster - 273. We had 3 great candidates, so it’s no surprise that the election was a close one! We have 2 seats open, with a tie for one of those seats. Our results are unofficial until they have been verified by each of the counties. Our board meeting was originally scheduled for April 11, 2024. We are moving the meeting to Tuesday, April 16, 2024, which gives us a few more days to determine the official winners of the election. Hopefully, by April 16, we will have two new board members. We will keep you posted as we work with our counties and Missouri School Boards Association throughout this process.
Tonight, LMS hosted a dynamic "Getting Groovy on the Map" parent involvement event, gearing up for our end-of-year state assessment! 🗺️ Parents, teachers, and students collaborated to ensure everyone's preparedness. Huge thanks to all the parents who joined us! Let's keep up the momentum as we strive for success together. (We didn't get a lot of pictures because we were busy having a GROOVY time!)
LMS Parent Involvement Night! Begins at 5:30 tonight, April 2! Students and parents will rotate through stations. There will be drawings and snacks, and maybe a bonus point or two!😉 We hope to see all of our 6, 7, and 8th grade students and parents! It is sure to be a groovy time!
The MVE Book Club was able to explore the Dickerson Park Zoo last week after completing a novel study over a book about a secret zoo! Thanks to KMJ Pallet and Lumber for sponsoring the trip for the Book Club!

🔬 Before heading off for spring break, our amazing 8th-grade students at LMS were hard at work in the lab! 💡 They were diving into the fascinating world of chemistry, learning all about the conservation of mass during chemical reactions. 🧪💥 It's incredible to see their curiosity and dedication to science! We are proud to share that the bus fleet of the Mtn. View-Birch Tree School District received a perfect score of 100% on the annual safety inspections conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol! The inspection process is extensive and is geared toward safety and security of all fleet vehicles that haul such precious cargo every single day! Join us in celebrating this achievement and in thanking Dan Lee, who works diligently to keep the fleet of buses in great working order throughout the year! All of us in Eagle Nation are extremely proud of Dan and his team of drivers at the bus barn!
The MVBT Title Spring Meeting will be held Wednesday, April 3. You can attend at 4:00pm OR at 6:00pm. The purpose of the meeting is to review and evaluate our Title I, II, and IV programs.

FCS MS Life Skills class completed a babysitting and child safety unit with “egg” babysitting. They had a few causalities, but overall the students learned how to be a responsible babysitter.
LMS students wrapped up their science unit on Ecology by dissecting owl pellets. It was a fun way to investigate the transfer of energy in an ecosystem!
MVBT will not be able to run a sports bus this evening, all of our drivers will be on routes. We wanted to get this information out as soon as possible, so adjustments can be made.

Last Thursday night, the Board of Education approved the hiring of Mr. Justin Johnson as the new Teacher/Assistant Principal at Liberty Middle School. Justin will be teaching two elective classes at LMS and the remainder of his day will be fulfilling administrative duties as the Assistant Principal. We asked Mr. Johnson to give a brief bio of himself and here is what he said.
"Hello, I am Justin Johnson. I am currently in my 14th year in education which includes 2 years as a paraprofessional and 12 years as a classroom teacher. The last 5 years have been in the MV-BT school district. I am a lifelong resident of Shannon County and a 2005 graduate of MV-BT. I currently live in Montier with my wife Kay-Lee, son Jase, and my daughter Asher. Youth sports, hunting, and the family farm keep me busy when not at school. I look forward to this new position and opportunity."

Each school building showed their appreciation to the Board of Education at our March board meeting. Throughout the rest of this month, let's take every opportunity to express our gratitude to the dedicated members of our school board who work tirelessly to ensure our students receive the best education possible. Their commitment, passion, and vision shape the future of our schools and communities.
We also want to take this opportunity to bid farewell to Bev Denton, who has served on the board since 2012. Mrs. Denton decided not to run for another term on the board. Bev, your dedication and contributions have made a lasting impact on our schools, and we are deeply grateful for your service!
A few celebrations at LMS: Golden tickets for being stellar students for our subs, Bus tickets for awesome bus behavior, and IReady incentives for passing 20 tests on their personal path! Our LMS students are doing great things!
Next week is a 5 day week! School will be in session on Monday, March 18th. Let's strive for perfect attendance as we gear up for an exciting Spring Break the following week. We hope to see all of our students on Monday!
