We are also so grateful for area businesses who donated a table full of awesome door prizes. Most of all, we want to thank our parents for attending with their future Liberty Eagles! Although it was our last meeting this year, we can't wait for more exciting activities in the next school year!

This week Mr. Collins' 9th grade social studies classes concluded their month-long stock market activity. Students simulated making investments using stocks and/or crypto currency. Students were allotted an initial balance of $10,000 for the activity. They were required to keep a minimum of five percent of their initial balance in reserve and had to pay a three percent brokerage fee for each of their buy/sell transactions.
Students tracked their investments over the course of four weeks and simulated a sale of assets on the final day to complete the project which included a twelve percent deduction to simulate federal taxes on realized short term capital gains. Mr. Eric Wells, member of the MVBT board of education and VP of the Liberty Branch of West Plains Bank and Trust Company, Mrs. Lindsay Holden, Assistant VP, and Kerri Vermillion of West Plains Bank presented our winners with gift cards for their accomplishments.
The top three earners, and their net gains are:
3rd Place Ty Roby $167.27
2nd Place Marianne Dewick $328.10
1st Place Evan Cope $542.66
Huge shoutout to West Plains Bank for their generous donation of mats for the gym walls at Liberty Middle School! Thanks to your support, our kids' safety during activities is now greatly enhanced. Your commitment to our community's well-being is truly appreciated!

LMS's perfect attendance winners for March were Drystan Hamilton, Emily Rosa, and Stevie Ledbetter! Congratulations! Thank you Beyond Blessed Custom Creations and Lois Wood for supporting our students!
After the election was certified, Gaylon Noble emerged as the winner, leaving a tie between Dr. Jennifer Foster and Mike Smith. The tied candidates agreed to forego a special election, agreeing to toss a coin to break the tie. (A special election would have cost the district a significant amount of money. Neither candidate wanted to place that financial burden on the district.) We had originally planned to toss the coin at our next board meeting, but due to unexpected circumstances we had to move our coin toss to this evening. Vice President Eric Wells tossed a coin. Mike Smith won the coin toss. At our upcoming board meeting next Tuesday night, we will be reorganizing the board, welcoming Gaylon Noble and Mike Smith into their new roles. Dr. Jennifer Foster has served on the board since 2015. Her dedication and leadership have been invaluable to our community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for her service.
Students in Mrs. Frost's class are learning about the challenges and responsibilities they face in the community.
We have a parent involvement team who has been looking at opportunities to get parents more involved throughout the district. There is no doubt that parent involvement is crucial to a student's success. The parent involvement team created a survey that you can complete to provide your input. We need your help in finding ways to increase parent involvement opportunities. Please help us by completing this survey: https://forms.gle/tyniNMVxvxNKXbcJ7

The 1st Annual South Central Job Olympics, was held at West Plains Civic Center, today, April 4, 2024. The mission of the Job Olympics is to showcase student mastery of job skills; to promote independence, self-motivation, and personal achievement. Some of our Liberty Eagles joined the competition. Liberty students experienced success and pride in their individual accomplishments, and shared in the success of their peers. All five participating Liberty High School Students: Bishop Campbell, Hayden Hicks, Madison Martinez, Steven Overton, and Tristan White performed exemplary and metaled in various competitions!!! A special thanks to the competitors, staff, volunteers, and especially to our local Gold Donors: Abel Insurance Agency, Inc., West Plains Bank, and Simmons Bank. Way to go Liberty! We can't wait until next year!
We have received unofficial results from our school board election from Texas County, Shannon County, and Howell County: Gaylon Noble 278, Michael Smith - 273, and Jennifer Foster - 273. We had 3 great candidates, so it’s no surprise that the election was a close one! We have 2 seats open, with a tie for one of those seats. Our results are unofficial until they have been verified by each of the counties. Our board meeting was originally scheduled for April 11, 2024. We are moving the meeting to Tuesday, April 16, 2024, which gives us a few more days to determine the official winners of the election. Hopefully, by April 16, we will have two new board members. We will keep you posted as we work with our counties and Missouri School Boards Association throughout this process.
Tonight, LMS hosted a dynamic "Getting Groovy on the Map" parent involvement event, gearing up for our end-of-year state assessment! 🗺️ Parents, teachers, and students collaborated to ensure everyone's preparedness.
