A huge thank you to Stephanie Beltz-Price, a representative from Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative who stopped by to drop off school supplies and visit with Juniors about a leadership opportunity for this summer.
The Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience (CYCLE) is a four-day leadership conference held annually in Jefferson City in mid-July. It brings together some of the best and brightest young leaders from across Missouri. The focus is to help students learn about electric cooperatives and Missouri state government and to teach leadership skills. The program includes nationally known speakers, tours of great Missouri museums, and a day at the state Capitol. The 2024 CYCLE Conference will be held July 16 – 19 at the Doubletree Hotel in Jefferson City.
Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative selects two area students to attend CYCLE each year, with lodging, meals and transportation provided by HOEC.
All area High School Juniors are eligible to apply for this opportunity (except for children of HOEC employees, who are ineligible). The 2024 Application deadline is Friday, March 8, 2024. Applications are located in the HS Counseling Office or in the HS Counseling Google Classroom.
For more information on CYCLE, contact Ms. Amanda Watts or the HOEC Member Services Department between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday at 417-256-2131 or toll free 1-888-HOE-POWER.
